QUICK STAMPER 16 maru

This design was created for the model update of the “16-round” Quick Stamper (a pre-inked stamp)—a product long manufactured and sold by Sanby Co., Ltd. (Tennoji Ward, Osaka).

The 16-round model is a staple in offices and other settings; these pre-inked stamps are kept on desks or in drawers and used frequently throughout the day. For this redesign of a long-selling product, the goal was to create something that would remain a bestseller for years to come. By stripping away superfluous details, the design pursues a sense of “ordinariness” that resists becoming dated.

The form is defined by a pleasing taper, with a concave curve leading toward the stamping surface—a shape that integrates seamlessly with the handle. A specific detail where the index finger rests allows the user to distinguish the top from the bottom by touch alone, ensuring usability for heavy users.

The design aims to blend naturally into daily life, creating an object that users will want to keep close at hand.
