Design of a New Plastic Color Sample
When plastics are used, they often exhibit both highlights where light strikes the surface and shadows where it darkens, relative to the base color. Conventional flat color samples have made it difficult to capture such nuances.
In collaboration with OK Kasei Co., Ltd., a manufacturer of plastic masterbatches, we developed a new color sample design that, despite its small size, features a soft and voluminous form. This allows for a richer perception of color variations even within the same molded hue.
Additionally, by incorporating 2 mm and 1 mm thickness steps, the plate enables users to appreciate subtle transitions in translucency for transparent and semi-transparent colors.
