KOMATSU SPRING INDUSTRIAL CO., LTD.

Jewelry made with spring material.

beyon is an accessory brand that was born using the Komatsu Spring Industry (Ota-ku, Tokyo)'s precision springs producing technology. Precision springs are springs that are mainly mounted inside precision machines, and many of them are not usually seen. When I first saw the tiny parts, I was amazed at the technology that can produce springs that are so delicate which is nearly difficult to confirm with the naked eye, and thought that if it would be possible to deliver the beauty as it is to users. As a result of examining the parts and the technologies closely, considering what can be the product that shows the most of the original goodness of the parts and technology, without making as much effort as possible and without investing in new facilities, we focused on the technology the company already has, which is to changed the diameter of both ends of the spring to make it into a ring by inserting one end to another, and we proposed to make a spring-structured accessory. The brand name is beyon. The word “beyond” is from the feeling that I have, toward the high-precision technology of the factory that has supported high production technology in Japan for a long time. And the word "biyon" is used for the expression of “springiness” in Japanese onomatopoeia. So the two aspects coincided and we named it “beyon”. The logo design was first from the initial B from the name "beyon", and with the graphical design of the spiral of the spring structure, aiming to convey their meaning and origin with humorous.
